Summary: Provide manufacturing assistance by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Design and Development of new products including, but not limited to, cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and other related parts.
Assist in defining appropriate material specifications for new products.
Optimize product design for durability, manufacturing, and cost while meeting established specifications.
Assist in the development of new product goals, specifications, and cost estimates.
Assist with new product recommendations.
Assist with product improvement initiatives. Work with Quality Assurance to improve product quality.
Lead product development teams.
Assist in the development of product evaluation tests and procedures.
Provide technical data and training for new products
Develop and maintain engineering drawings.
Create BOMs for new products.
Work with Manufacturing and Purchasing during the development process as well as assisting with the evaluation of new vendors.
Provide technical support for customer issues related to product design.
Other duties as required.
Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Proficient in the use of CAD, preferably AutoCAD.
Proficient in the use of solid modeling software, preferably Solid Works.
Knowledge of Internal Combustion engines.
Strong Analytical, Mathematical, and Problem Solving skills.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Effective Time Management skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing or automotive industry. Strong mechanical aptitude.
Advanced working knowledge of CAD and Solid Modeling software packages is essential. Proficient in MS Office
