This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the our product lines. Works closely with marketing, engineering, sales and operations to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals. Also responsible for adhering to and promoting the company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a leader and supports the continued growth of the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Duties include but are not limited to)
Direct and perform all aspects of product development, changes and promotions, including development procedures, specifying components, packaging and header design, product positioning, pricing, catalog and sell sheet copy, training aides and point of purchase merchandisers.
Manage products through the life cycle from ideation to retirement.
Manage and communicate sales information and product changes - internally and externally.
Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
Produce, maintain and update annual forecast.
Develop and maintain product database with product specifications, artwork and catalog copy for dealer co-op advertising and catalogs programs.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects.
Participate in an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace.
Develop constructive relationships with contractors, consultants and governmental agency representatives as necessary.
Meet budgetary goals for this function.
Work with peers, superiors and subordinates to insure the development and execution of the department/operating plan.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills & Experience Required:

5 or more years of prior product development experience.
Prior product development experience in a retail automotive, hardware or farm store environment.
Prior engine component experience a plus.
Strong problem solving/analysis, technical capacity and time management.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. 10% is expected.
Up to date, social media shrewdness is required.
S. in a sales, marketing, engineering discipline. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement cost savings efforts and support budgetary requirements of the department.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position is performed within an office in a production facility and may require interaction with employees in the production area.
This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 -35 pounds throughout the day.
