Light Duty – Autos, Heavy Duty, Performance Vehicles
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: We are currently seeking experienced Order Fillers at Standard Motor Products, Inc. Engine Management’s Distribution Center.
You will work in a fast-paced distribution facility filling customer orders. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies while meeting performance standards
Requirements (include but not limited to): * Load boxes on a picking cart using Voice or RF scanning unit, Receives and gives voice commands to direct work. Walks up and down aisles picking items off of racking, scanning the items and putting the items into a tote. After picking parts, loads them into appropriate box. Slides filled boxes off of the cart onto the conveyor. * All associates are responsible for executing all safety protocols and will accomplish all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety. Associates will comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: * At least two years recent experience as an Order Filler utilizing Voice/RF technology in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment * English (reading, writing, and verbal) * Basic reading and writing skills required Mathematical Skills * Basic to Intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
Computer Skills: Basic PC or RF/Voice WMS functions Language Skills
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. * Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, reach, and climb. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
Work Environment: Working conditions are normal for a logistics/distribution center/warehouse environment including exposure to changing building temperatures. Work involves lifting up to 70 pounds, operating material handling equipment, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
