We are currently seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to support our Senior Director, Community Engagement. This position will provide administrative support to the Senior Director, Community Engagement and appropriate Community Liaisons with primary responsibility for the planning and execution of community-specific programs and activities. The Community Engagement Coordinator will support the growth and development of the Auto Care Association community and will work with staff to streamline the structure and operations of existing segment communities in order to best support the association’s long-term mission and goals. Additionally, this person will be responsible for implementing, sustaining, and evaluating an effective community relations program that advances the mission of Auto Care Association and builds community partnerships throughout the nation. The person in this role must be extremely well organized and an independent thinker who is creative and enjoys working within a mission-driven, results-oriented environment. The ideal individual will exercise good judgement and have strong administrative, organizational and technical skills.
The specific duties and responsibilities include:
Provide administrative, managerial and other assistance as requested to community liaisons in support of their community-specific activities. This can include support with planning and execution of conferences and events, communications and member contacts, election processes for community leaders, awards nominations and presentations, community website maintenance, maintenance of contact lists and community directories, member retention and recruitment efforts, and attending community leadership events (board and/or council meetings, conferences, etc.)
Assist in aligning, integrating and making more efficient certain community programs and functions, as well as enhancing interaction and information sharing between communities
Assist in the assessment of communities for viability, growth potential, resource use, management efficiency and member engagement/value
Develop best practices for community management and implement these practices consistently across all communities
Recommend remedies to correct deficiencies and enhance value in situations where community activities, engagement or legacy structure are inconsistent with the association’s long-term goals
Maintain various databases of groups of stakeholders
Assist in creating processes for internal and external evaluation of engagement initiatives
Distribute information to community, association staff and volunteers through multiple channels
The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Management or related discipline is required
At least three years of experience with similar responsibilities working with associations or volunteer groups strongly desired
Must be organized, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously and complete in a timely manner
Must provide exemplary customer service
Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including association staff, board/committee members, senior management, external partners and association members
Must be a highly resourceful team-player with the ability to be independently effective
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills with some public speaking experience desirable
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook 2016, as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Personify would be helpful
